PhD Café: Exploring Computational Tools for Advancing Your PhD Research - An Introduction to uCloud 

Join us on the 21st of February from 13:30 to 15:00 for an enlightening session on leveraging computational tools tailored to enhance your PhD research. The venue details will be announced shortly. 

Hosted by Federica Lo Verso, this session will unveil the capabilities of UCloud – an innovative cloud computing technology provided by the SDU eScience Centre. 

What is UCloud? 

UCloud stands as a dynamic and interactive digital research environment, which provides an intuitive graphical user interface to give easy access to interactive high-performance computing and tools. 

Advantages for Students: 

Accessible Anywhere: Cloud services (compute and storage) accessible via every type of device, from workstations to laptops and tablets, no need of local software installation. 

Collaborative Workspaces: Data can be shared in project workspaces, with restricted access to computational resources and teaching materials. 

No need for high expertise level: Perform high-performance computing tasks regardless of your expertise level. 

Secure Data Sharing: Easy to share data with collaborators, classmate, teachers in secure virtual environments. 

Dedicated Support: Benefit from comprehensive support provided by the eScience Centre. 

What to Expect: 

In collaboration with the eScience Centre and the University Library, this event will equip you with valuable insights and tools to support your research activities The seminar will offer a fundamental introduction to UCloud, encompassing platform access, software utilization, and file and folder management. 

The workshop's duration will span one hour, followed by an opportunity for networking, discussions, and coffee!
