We will focus on which sources to search, how to plan the search process, and how to design the search strategies.
The course includes use of bibliographic and citation index databases, and the course also addresses how to manage the references, and how you can document and report the search process.

After the course, you should:

• Be able to develop and select appropriate search strategies
• Be able to evaluate search strategies and search results

Preparation: You are expected to read the following literature (available at itslearning) before the course:

• Thomas, G. (2017). *The Literature Review’, pp. 57-68 in How to do your research project: A guide for students in education and applied social sciences. (3rd^. Ed.) SAGE Publications Ltd.

Before we meet, you should also contact your supervisor to find out which journals are particularly relevant for publication and to keep track of.

Evaluation: After the course you will hand in a witten paper, 2-4 pages within a week, with reflection on your own literature search practice, and you will get feedback.

The course is eligible to 1.0 ECTS points.

The course is a pilot and after the course, we will evaluate whether it will be offered in its current form or in a modified form in the future.
